Nicola Lauré al-Samarai

is a Berlin-based historian and cultural theorist. Her research interests include Black and comparative diaspora studies, transnational feminism, critical museology and approaches of intercommunal / interdiasporic activism. She has participated in the long-term exhibition project homestory deutschland. Schwarze Biografien in Geschichte und Gegenwart (2005-2012), co-edited together with Kien Nghi Ha and Sheila Mysorekar the anthology re/visionen. Postkoloniale Perspektiven von People of Color auf Rassismus, Kulturpolitik und Widerstand in Deutschland (2007) and has published numerous articles on aspects of Black German history, memory formation, cultural politics and questions of representation.
