Søren Berner’s works spans performance, sculpture and installation. His practice looks at everyday life and things we take for granted. He recently published a paper on participatory art and overidentification, exploring how artistic strategies can contribute to education and critical engagement. Article. His work has been shown at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), Vienna; the National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen; Helmhaus, Zürich; Manifesta 11, Zürich; Pasquart, Biel/Bienne; Bündner Kunstmuseum, Chur; and Kunsthallen Nikolaj, Copenhagen. Berner studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and is currently based in Zürich.
