Condividual Saturation
Antoine Chessex
First, there is a song. Harmony, melody, lyrics, rhythm, form. In no particular order. Listen. What comes after the song? What happens when melody dissolves into noise?
A becoming in saturation. Social Noise because tumult can only be an answer. Answering in and through repetition. Two tracks, Fender Rhodes and vocal, become a multiplicity of thirteen voices. No additional material. A virtual vintage guitar amplifier. Actual feedback. Distortion. Time stretch. Revolution of the past through saturation of the future to change the present. Layers. Pitch shift and deferral. Noise is more than a stench in the ear. It is the potentiality of driving the meters into the red. An excess. A surplus. Social Noise becomes relations produced by sound and listening through social life.
