An Oozing Nothingness / Seas of Love
Alexander Tuchaček
I wanted to experiment with a stage for a different sense of time and an open-source, commons-based production model (using only Linux audio software). On this stage, the voice is meant to be at the very forefront, while the song’s structure is liberated from its harmonic and rhythmic functions. An attempt to create a dialogue, based on the micro-timing of the vocal line, with a double bass part that responds to the vocals, leaves space, or sets the stage for the next event. Briefly at the beginning and end—for a few seconds—Avishai Cohen appears with a pitch-shifted bass sample. In the dialogue between the low basses and the vocal, they alternately make space for one another in the frequency spectrum, which is intended to strengthen the vocal’s stage presence.
The vocal’s timing has been readjusted to 105 BPM, and the pitch has been partially re-tuned monotonically. Parts of the vocal track are doubled with an AI voice. The drum sounds are created individually using a drum synthesizer. A multi-stage mastering process is intended to enhance the stage presence, make the sound more spatial, and emphasize the foreground presence of the instruments and vocals.
The audio file will be released on 18 Nov. 2026.
